English
Victorian Gardens
The
Gingerbread Mansion's gardens are an example of late
Victorian gardens, encompassing French formal, English
formal, and English informal. Beaded topiary mimics
the highly ornate beaded fretwork of the mansion's
exterior.
Serrendipitous
brick paths meander between tightly trimmed English
box woods, leading visitors to secret corners revealing
classical statuary, or hedged privets as focal points.
Camellias,
rhododendrons, and hydrangeas add spectacular color
to a garden that is profuse with annuals and perennials.
Early
spring brings narcissus, daffodils, crocus, and tulips.
Fox gloves, fuschias, fever few, marguerites, and
columbine offer continuous enjoyment through spring
and summer.

Spectacular
fall color abound with Liquid Ambers, Japanese Maples
Cosmos and other fall perennials. During the Winter
Season the structure of the garden takes center stage, showing
off the ornately trimmed topiary hedges, shrubs and
occassional early blooming Camellias.
